Caps Off to HFO's First Graduating Class

It’s hard to believe that 8 years ago Hope for Opelousas didn’t exist, and this month we celebrate with 9 students who walk across the graduation stage. Each journey was unique and amazing and all of the energy, blood, sweat and tears were worth it in that moment. For some of our students, graduation was always a personal expectation they knew they would achieve.  For others it seemed like a mountain they would never see the top of. Seeing each of these students realize this accomplishment was a dream come true for both them and the HFO Crew!

As we talk to our seniors about their time at HFO, the word that keeps coming up is family. When I hear it I know we’ve done what we set out to do. Family loves you – because, they love you! Not to get something in return. They love you at your best and at your worst. They commit to you no matter what happens in life. For them to say that HFO has been a “Family” for them makes me a proud poppa!

High School Graduation is the first of many milestones we hope to celebrate with our students. We anticipate college and trade school graduations, weddings, and baby showers. Our mission at HFO will never be accomplished but rather always expanding. The love of a family doesn’t run out, it is fed by a deeper source; Love keeps growing more love! My hope is that God’s love through us has shown our students their great value and His unfailing love.
