1st Adventure Crew Trip of 2013: Hiking Q & A
Our first Adventure Crew trip for our Explorers Group this year was spent on a loop we put together of several trails in the Kisatchie National Forest in the Alexandria area. We combined a section of the Wild Azalea Trail and the Kinkade Lake Trail. One of the Explorers shares her experience on the trip:
HFO - What was your favorite part about the hiking trip?
Jewel - My favorite part about the hiking trip was being together, eating , playing and listening to stories .
HFO - What kind of food did you eat while you hiked?
Jewel - We ate trail mix on the first hike. When we were done with the trip we took a break and we drove all around the whole trail to see what we missed. We finally stopped at a big lake we sat at the dock and ate beef jerky, sausage, and cheese. I THINK IT WAS ALL THE BEST FOOD YOU CAN EAT ON A HIKING TRIP!
HFO - What did you think about the trail that you hiked?
Jewel - I think the trip was the best place I have ever been to. It was a struggle at first but then I got the hang of it. On our way back it was bad then Mr. Loren told me some encouraging words. He said when you walk up a hill its always bad but then the hill rewards you with an easy way down. I believe this is the best thing you can do and you lose some weight.
