ART AND ART SHOW
Throughout the year our students are provided with the opportunity to create their own art pieces. This hard work and creativity culminates in an annual Art Show where patrons, parents and friends of HFO can purchase Art in our auction-style event to support HFO. Not only are our students given the creative freedom to learn a new skill, they are given the opportunity to become “working artists” for the benefit of not just themselves but their peers in HFO.
ENRICHMENT IN ACADIANA
At HFO we believe that in order to build life long learners, we need to allow our kids to see and explore all facets of the world. We make sure that HFO students get to experience field trips geared towards rewarding their hard work, providing fantastic life experiences, and having plenty of fun! Our enrichment programs are sure to explore Opelousas and the surrounding areas providing inspirational speakers, cultural experiences, art programming, athletics and more. Some of our favorite destinations for these trips have included The Insectarium and Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, LSU football games, and art and culture events.

COLLEGE TOURS AND JOB READINESS SPEAKERS
We want our High School and Jr. High Students to start thinking about their plans after high school. We walk with each student on their path and provide opportunities to tour college campuses in the Acadiana area, explore technical careers, learn about fiscal responsibility and hear from inspiring adults as they explore their own growth.
SUMMER TUTORING
Summer Program at HFO is whirlwind of learning and fun! In the morning we focus on reading and math, while afternoons were filled with pool adventures, field trips, and recreation. From working in our garden to exciting excursions and enriching Bible studies, there is not time for the lazy days of summer! Our oldest kids are inspired by a retreat and getaway at 3 Mile Lake. As always local field trips were a hit, and we end our summer program with a special celebration. Summer is a fast and furious 7-week adventure but it’s one that we can’t ever miss!

GROW HOPE GARDEN
Started in 2021, our garden is like a hidden treasure in the heart of campus, marked by a “Grow Hope” sign. This magical spot lets students dive into the fun of getting their hands dirty and watching results bloom. From tiny seeds to huge flowers, towering okra plants, and sprawling tomato vines, we witness God’s handiwork up close. The garden also teaches life lessons—just like with anything worth having, a big harvest comes from rolling up our sleeves, putting in the effort, and giving it care!
